Design Innovations

The Eternus Mk1 incorporates a number of innovative design features that are expected to lead to a highly competitive entry into the UrbanConcept competition. These include:

* A lighweight continuously variable transmission (CVT)
* An optimised engine bursting system
* A lightweight composite spaceframe
* Lightweight rubber suspensions
* A highly optimised aerodynamic shape

Basic Vehicle Parameters

The Eternus Mk1 posses the following basic design parameters:

Frontal Area    1.12m^2
Coefficient of Drag    0.31
Race Mass    130 kg
Coefficient of Rolling Resistance    0.0035
Assumed BTE     30%
Lower bursting velocity (Vmin)   23 km/hr
Upper bursting velocity (Vmax)   27 km/hr

Using these parameters, a preliminary simulation points to a fuel economy of 380 km/litre under UrbanConcept racing conditions.
